I’m proud to see who you become

Even if it’s from afar

You needed to go

Although, sometimes when I laugh or I cry

I wish you were home

But admitting that only makes it worse

You can’t come back

Home is where both of our roots were planted

But you had no room to bloom here

And I couldn’t go with you

You said you’d call and sometimes you do

It’s okay, I know you’re busy

But hearing your voice just makes me long to see your face

My heart is with you in all that you do

I wish you joy and success

And knowing you, you’ll keep going until you achieve it

You’d better

You’re doing everything that you said you would

Keep going

You’re strong and brave

You’ll make a good name for yourself

And I’ll be hundreds of miles away cheering you on

Know that I love you

Enough to let you go

Enough to let you grow

Live your dreams

And wherever you go on your journey, don’t come home
